All the time we hear about the awesome perks and benefits that come with luxury credit cards. These benefits are how one can easily justify high annual fees, they are things such as lounge access, free hotel nights, and travel credits. 
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite credit card benefits that has saved me $200+ by simply having the card and I’m sure it will save me hundreds more as long as I have it in my wallet. 
This perk is a free checked bag – simple I know yet so helpful! My @americanair business card allows me to check a free bag each trip up to 50 lbs (I nearly maxed out the weight coming home after Christmas with 3 bottles of gin 🤣). 
Before having this card I would stuff everything I had into a carry on, pour my curly hair products into little tiny bottles and hope they didn’t spill in my quart sized bag mid flight, leaving me with a vacation full of bad hair days. 
Now I can bring all of my hair products with me where ever I go and I don’t have to worry about lifting a heavy carry-on over my head to put it in the bin on the plane! 
I realize that if you don’t regularly fly the same airline this perk might not be for you, for me it’s worth it to have a cobranded card because I regularly fly between PHL-BOS which are both AA hubs.
